Facebook users data keeps on leaking every day and now there is a big bug in the Facebook owned instant messaging application WhatsApp. By taking advantage of this bug of WhatsApp, hackers can delete your WhatsApp account while sitting away. Many users have also claimed that their account has been blocked and they are no longer able to re-cover their account. Let's understand this whole issue...
Security researcher Luis Márquez Carpintero and Ernesto Canales Pereña have detected this bug in WhatsApp. The report states that due to this bug, those WhatsApp accounts that also have two factor authentication (2FA) are turned on. Researchers have said that all this can be done by taking advantage of two weaknesses of WhatsApp.
Taking advantage of the first weakness of WhatsApp, a hacker can install WhatsApp in your phone from your mobile number, but due to not getting the 6-digit code, the hacker will not get access to your WhatsApp account, although many times the hacker's phone fail. But WhatsApp will be blocked after 12 hours.
Now the hacker will contact WhatsApp support and ask you to de-activate the WhatsApp account containing your phone number. In this process a new email ID will be required and in the meantime the hacker will give his email ID to WhatsApp support. After this, WhatsApp will be de-activated on your number, after which you will not be able to use WhatsApp.
Now the question is what should you do if this happens to you. By the way, this is a regular de- activation process, so in such a situation your account will be closed forever, but due to the hacker, you can definitely get upset for 12 hours.
